 More Detailed Descriptions of Classes:

Slow Flow Yoga:

This class is excellent for new students or for those who enjoy the slower and shorter vinyasa flows, allowing time to surrender and relax between sequences.  This class includes a classic Sun Salutation.  Discover and explore the foundational balance, standing, seated and core strengthening postures.  This class focuses on sequencing poses that flow with the breath, alignment, and attention to subtle details.  Combinations of the shoulders, back, chest, hips and hamstrings will be covered in each class to promote greater flexibility and strength, improving posture and relieving stress.  This class uses props such as straps, blocks, sandbags and blankets to help achieve the best posture possible, with maximum benefit, while minimizing the risk of injury.  Reconnect with your body and get ready to explore the benefits.

Variety Yoga:

This "non-traditional" yoga class is great for new students and for those who would like to take your yoga practice "out of the box" while we add fun with props and sometimes easy dance moves.  It's not about how good you dance, it's about how much fun you can have in your "true self".  Mimi loves to add  humor and each week is different.  Sun Salutations are not practiced during this class.  The music is upbeat and energizing.  Combinations of the shoulders, back, chest, hips, hamstrings and core strengtheners will be covered in each class to promote greater flexibility and strength, improving posture and relieving stress.  Some of the variety classes include:  Flex & Flow, BodyBands, Yoga Core Balls, Yoga Non-Weighted/Weighted Strength Bars, Partner Yoga, Moodlifting Yoga, Foam Rollers, gentle PiYo and more.

Moderate Flow Yoga:

Take your yoga practice to the next level.  In this dynamic class you will learn two different styles of Sun Salutations, the Classic and Power Flow Sun Salutations, alternating each week.  It's a great way to keep the mind and body active by learning two different types of Sun Salutations.  The flowing sequences are longer to help build your stamina, strength and flexibility.  Explore more advanced poses to expand your practice, learn how to bind in postures safely, while flowing with the breath and build your strength, stamina and flexibility to a new level.  Discover how to sculpt your body, improve flexibility, increase coordination and muscle tone while making your spirit happy.  This class is recommend for students with some yoga background; however, modifications are taught so seasoned practitioners and newer students alike can enjoy learning the importance of staying in the moment and exploring yoga from the inside out.

Power Yoga:
This exhilarating class is set to fun upbeat and/or traditional yoga music and is designed to sculpt your body, improve flexibility, build stamina, increase coordination and muscle tone while relieving stress.  A total mediation in motion.  Power Flow Sun Salutations are practiced in this class.  You will find extended flows to build strength and endurance creating internal heat increasing the release of toxins.  Be prepared to sweat. Learn how to flow in balancing postures to promote determination and lightness, core strengthening poses that sculpt the mid-section and add fluidity to the spine for injury prevention, and deeply freeing hip and shoulder opening postures to counteract the ill effects of tension in the body, all within an energizing creative Vinyasa flow series.  Inversions are practiced in this class.  All students are reminded to listen to their body, rest when needed and follow the modifications that are right for you. It's not about how far you go into a pose, its about being where you are at the present moment as fully as possible and finding a deep sense of well-being and inner strength.  Enjoy the journey.
