Warrior 2

Improve your strength, focus, and discipline withWarrior 2.
Warrior 2  To get into the pose:

Step the right foot to the top center of the mat and allow the right foot to face directly forward.

Take a comfortable step back with the left foot and allow the left foot to be parallel to the back small side of the yoga mat.

If you look at your front heal to your back arch, you will have an imaginary line from heal to arch.  It also can be practiced with "heal to heal" alignment.

Feet are Fun!

For anyone who really knows me, you knowI LOVE FEET

Did you know that each foot has over 7,000 nerve endings?

After doing two Reiki treatments today, I had the honor of touching someone else's feet.  Each person could feel sensation as I touched or hovered over their feet!

I love to spread my toes and pick things up.  I love to roll a tennis ball under my feet and find that "yummy" spot that just feels fine!  Feet in the warm sand, feet in water, feet on grass.

Yoga Poses - Bridge Pose

bridgeBridge Pose:
Bridge pose is a great way to stretch the front of your hips and open your chest.  This pose also strengthens muscles in the lower back and hips.

Strengthensthe glutes, hamstrings, hip adductors and lower back.

Stretchesthe hip flexors, abdominals, chest and shoulders.

Start by lying on your back with your palms down and arms along the side of your body.  Slide the shoulders away from your ears.  Bend your knees and bring the feet directly under the knees, hip-width apart.

Gratitude

gratitude1As I write, I'm listening to Karen Drucker's music all about gratitude.  How grateful I am to be able to step out into the world today to teach yoga to people who are recovering from addictions, anxiety, depression and more.  Some may be afraid to come to class.  Some may come to try it and leave.  Some may stay.

Teaching yoga to recovering alcoholics has a huge positive impact on their recovery.   Yoga also has amazing benefits for those suffering from anxiety.

The beginnings - become a Blessitician

Diamante IL Marzo 08Welcome to my first post in my blog.  Blogging is new to me.... what is not new - is finding all the goodness and the blessings in my life.

I was riding in my car the other day, and thought of how lucky and blessed I am to be healthy, to spread the joy of yoga to as many people as I can, to do good things for others and expect nothing in return.  So I made up this new word - "Blessitician".  Knowing that I am blessed from above and teach anything I've learned to help you.
