Yoga for Kids

Yoga For Kids: This six week class combines yoga, lots of fitness fun, creativity, share circles, and many “inclusive” yoga games so no child feels left out.    This class allows all children to participate at their own level and guaranteed to have fun.

We use lots of fun props such as:  yoga balls - cute tiny ones and huge ones, lots of percussion instruments, foam yoga blocks, toy plastic boats, stuffed animals, agility dots, yoga pose cards, parachute warm up games, and lots of great music that the kids just LOVE!

Some of the fun yoga games that we play:  Yoga Bingo, Crab Tag, Bowling for Butterflies, Grow Chop Chop, Duck Duck Yoga Pose, Giggle Gaggle Bubble Waggle, Sun Ray Circle, Snake Escape, Leap Frog Yoga, Shark Roll, Totem Pole Yoga, Go Stop Back to Back, Mini-Golf Yoga, many Percussion games and many more...

Relaxing stories at the end such as:  Forest Adventures, Hiking & Lake Adventures, Flower Garden Beauty, Making the Right Choices, Showing Compassion to Living Things, Finding Confidence & Believing in Yourself, Learning Courtesy with Chipmunks, and many more....

Each child leaves with a fun puzzle and/or coloring page to enjoy at home after class.  The last class is raffle day - there is always a prize for the lucky one and then everyone else also receives a special prize.  No one misses out.

Each child enjoys Angel Bear and Sweet Pea during class.  Mimi uses many products and ideas directly from Angel Bear Yoga.  If you would like to learn more about Angel Bear Yoga products, click on the Angel Bear Yoga picture below:

Frequently Asked Questions:

Does your yoga incorporate religion?
No, absolutely not.  We focus on fun and fitness.

Do you use candles like you do in the adult classes?
No, absolutely not.

Do you use sandbags like you do in the adult classes?
No, absolutely not.

Do you give out candy or food?
No.  That's a choking hazard.  No candy or gum aloud either.  The only "food" aloud in the yoga studio is a bottled water or a drink that has a cover.

Do you take photos during class?
No, absolutely not.

What should my child bring?
A favorite blanket, bottle water, lots of imagination and a huge smile!

As a recommendation, necklaces should be left at home so it does not break.

Parents/guardians are welcome to stay and watch on the sidelines or join us for free.  Any child with special needs is asked to bring an adult helper for free.  If a child consistently disrupts the class, the parent must stay to monitor their child so the other children can still enjoy their yoga experience.
