De-Stress with Yoga - Take Time to Take Care of Yourself
 
Intro to Yoga
This six-week series of yoga classes is especially designed for complete beginners or students who enjoy the foundational poses (asana). It is an excellent, structured way of getting to know the basics of Hatha Yoga. Mimi will take you through the fundamentals of correct alignment and breathing which will come into immediate play in your everyday life. You will also learn and practice basic stretches, balancing poses, strengthening exercises and relaxation techniques.  Along with learning the  postures, Mimi will also show you how postures can be linked to the breath with movement.
 
You will begin to experience for yourself some of the benefits that can arise from practicing yoga such as increased flexibility, strength, cardiovascular and digestive health, as well as a sense of well-being and relaxed awareness.
 
Mimi will teach modifications and options to avoid injury.  Every class ends with relaxation techniques, meditations, and/or guided imagery.   Each student enjoys Savasana (final relaxation) with a bolster, eye pillows, blankets and/or neck rolls for added comfort and luxury - with no extra cost.  We love to be extremely comfortable.  Aroma therapy lotions - smells so good in final relaxation.  Go home feeling good.
 
Chilled bottled water is available if you forget to bring one ($1.00). 
The temperature of the yoga room ranges from 68 - 74 degrees.
 
Class size is limited to 10 students so that you will receive lots of personal attention and can gain the skills and confidence to move into other classes that Mimi offers.  You may even find this class is the best for you to return to each session.  This is a superb class to ask questions about the postures and receive deep knowledge.
 
Regular attendance assures that you will consistently practice these exercises for greater benefits.

What to Wear: Wear lightweight, non-restrictive clothing.  Many students wear sweatpants, leggings and t-shirts/tank tops.  Yoga is practiced with bare feet.
 
Please do not eat a large meal 1-2 hours prior to class.  If you are used to eating at this time, please eat something light instead; such as fruit and nuts, or a health bar.  Then enjoy your meal when you get home.
 
We Provide: a yoga mat, blocks, yoga straps, blankets and bolsters.  (If you have your own yoga mat, you are encouraged to bring it with you).  Mimi also sells yoga mats - 1/4" thick.
 
Missed Class Policy: Each session runs for 6 weeks.  If you miss a class, you can make it up in any Slow Flow, Sunrise Yoga, or Variety Yoga class.  The make-up class must be made up within 6 weeks from the missed class and there must be room in the class to attend.  
 
Refunds: Refunds will only be given up to one week prior to the class if you choose not to participate.  Refunds will be issued in full if the minimum of 3 people do not sign up.
